Note from the Author.
Dear Reader,
Firstly, respectfully I say that this publication is not an effort to seek notoriety or attention.
This is a true and accurate story of my life “UNCUT”!
The information contained herein is based on facts and not innuendo or fanciful thoughts.
My name is Marius Anton Ackerman, born on June 20, 1969, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Growing up in a bilingual household, I developed a close bond with my grandparents, enjoying activities like fishing and woodworking, plants and animals. My early life was marked by challenges, including bullying in primary school, which led me to seek refuge in a boarding school. Despite these difficulties, I found personal growth and later pursued a successful career at Standard Bank of South Africa.
After completing my military conscription, I began my career at Standard Bank of South Africa. Over the years, I held various positions within the bank, gaining extensive experience in the financial sector. My dedication and hard work allowed me to climb the corporate ladder, eventually taking on significant responsibilities and contributing to the bank's success.
I immigrated to Australia in 2002 upon which I took up a very Senior position with the Adelaide Bank in South Australia. In 2004 I moved to the Gold Coast Queensland where I was appointed as the Managing Director of a very prominent finance company. After being in the position for about a year I opened my own finance company and also served as a director of one the Gold Coasts Public Companies (Property Development and Construction).
In 2008, feeling exhausted despite my wealth, I entered semi-retirement and shifted my focus to fitness and breeding British Bulldogs, a breed I loved since childhood.
Throughout my life, I have faced significant mental health struggles, including PTSD, depression, and anxiety, stemming from traumatic experiences. Writing has served as a therapeutic outlet for me to confront these challenges. My journey has also included legal challenges, such as fraud charges related to breeding British Bulldogs, and Tax related offences which led to imprisonment. During my time in prison, I experienced personal reflection and the emotional toll of my surroundings.
After my release, I struggled to reintegrate into society while managing my mental health and familial relationships. Ongoing legal issues complicated my attempts to rebuild my life. Despite these challenges, I have found solace in creative activities like painting and writing. I am passionate about advocating for the rights of the homeless and disadvantaged, particularly in Australia. My advocacy work includes participating in research projects focused on homelessness and legal support, and I am committed to raising awareness about the systemic issues that contribute to homelessness. I believe in the importance of providing access to legal resources and support for homeless individuals, and I actively work towards creating positive change in this area.
Family has always been a significant part of my life. I have fond memories of my parents and their unwavering support throughout my journey. My relationship with my father has been particularly impactful, especially during his major surgery, where I took on the responsibility of his care, including meal preparation and medical management. However, my familial relationships have also been marked by challenges, especially with my sons. Since 2016, I have had no contact with them, which has led to feelings of isolation and regret. Despite these difficulties, I express deep love and hope for reconnection with my children in the future.
I express heartfelt gratitude to my family, friends, and professionals who have supported me throughout my journey. My narrative serves as a testament to resilience in the face of adversity, highlighting the complexities of mental health and legal challenges

Bruce "Ivabully City Slicker Ocobo" a great win at CRUFTS 2010. He was shown by the legendary Norman Davis. This was Norman Davis's last show and celebrated it with a win. To the best of my knowledge, no other Australian British Bulldog breeder has a achieved this. A very proud moment as Bruce's owner!

Mental Health does not Discriminate!

A Mental Health Disability and or issues do not discriminate! It can happen to anyone!

It is normal not to be normal! Your normal is you normal and does not have be someone else's normal!
Let's talk about it! Make a change!

One of the first attempts at "Mud mixing" my version of painting. I took a curtain and started to paint on the back. If you look deep into the black you will see frons in black. They are where I was on the 17 July 2024. Left is black and white. Nothing grows in the dark! Would you rather be in the light on the right full of colour or wilting in the dark?
